ABOUT

The Chambersburg Half Marathon is held in memory of Robert Eyer, Sr. (1926-2001), who died while running. Bob was an avid, competitve runner and was a member of the Chambersburg Road Runners Club. The Chambersburg Half Marathon was his favorite race.

The Chambersburg Half Marathon has drawn a diverse group of people each year. During the first year Jean Stapleton (Edith on "All in the Family") was a spectator cheering on the runners. Many Olympic hopefuls have participated in the race.

In 2021 Jeremy Ardanuy broke the 20 year old course record of Steve Spence, who ran for the United States at the Olympic Games in Barcelona (1992), with a time of 1:08:09. The female record of 1:17:03 was set in 2023 by Julien Webster. She ran the 46th running of this race so lots of fast ladies have run this course. Julien broke the prior 2 year old record by over 2 minutes!
